Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal Versions: "No Plans" to bring them to 3DS VC

Well, this sucks. The Gen II Pokémon games (and their remakes) are overpriced in online marketplaces, not to mention nearly all original copies being unable to save, meaning a Gen II re-release on 3DS makes sense.

Now for the part that sucks: after months of me waiting for a surprise announcement of the Gen II Pokémon games being released in the 3DS eShop, it seems that in an interview with another gaming website, Junichi Masuda himself stated that they do not currently intend to add them to the VC lineup. I have fond memories of playing the original Silver as a young teenager, so I have a bit of an emotional attachment to them, and I would snatch up all three of them if they were released on 3DS (possibly even TWO of each for extra save slots), so this statement leaves me feeling disappointed.

Searching through Google proves that I'm not the only one who's eager to once again be able to play these brilliant games, and it wouldn't be a dumb idea for The Pokémon Company to re-release them (last I checked, the Gen I re-releases have sold in excess of 1.5 million copies), so I must admit I'm disappointed...both in the lack of easily-accessible - and affordable - Gen II titles and in The Pokémon Company as a whole.

well that sucks... lets hope they come to the switch then

I'd prefer them on 3DS, though. I even have slots on both consoles reserved just for them. And, if the Switch has a unified eShop with VC titles for both 3DS and Wii U, then they may end up available for both 3DS and Switch.

Of course, it may just be easier to try and locate (affordable non-bootleg) copies of HeartGold and SoulSilver than wait for a VC release which may take a while to be added, but why should we have to settle?
