Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (Bros.)

I was just informed that M&L:DT will be available to download at 12:01 a.m., on August 11th. I've already got the money in my eShop account, because of the CN promotion, and I really don't like the boxart. Anyone else going digital for this release?

Yep, I've got my $ ready and will get it at midnight but will start to play it when I get out of work, I'll hopefully be the last game I buy until Wonderful 101 comes out since my backlog is massive right now

I'm a little disappointed with the game so far it is fun, but nowhere near as fun as Bowser's Inside Story.

I forgot to mention that I'm playing a demo I got for pre ordering the game at Best Buy.

There should really be a demo available on the eShop. It doesn't make much sense to supply people with a demo, if they have already placed a pre-order. If anything, that might actually encourage some people to cancel their pre-order's.

you got a demo Kushina?! I saw on the StreetPass plaza at my Target they had someone else who was playing the demo, and I didn't even know there was a demo to be had in any form

I couldn't help myself. I told myself I wouldn't begin playing this game, until I was finished with FE:A, SMTIV, Pandora's Tower, Xenoblade Chronicles & Unchained Blades. I guess I lied to myself again, because I played the damn game for 2 1/2 hrs. last night. Wow! Other than Earthbound, this is the most charming RPG I've ever experienced. So far, this game gets an 8/10 from me. If not an 8.5 or 9/10.

It does look quite fun.

@Nintenbro is this game as difficult as Bowser's Inside Story?

NepGear, this is the very first M&L game I've played, so I can't make that comparison. I know there's a hard mode that can be unlocked, though.

I'm sorry, once again. I just downloaded SMRPG a little over a month ago. From what I've played of SMRPG (which is not very much at all), I think M&L:DT may start off a little bit easier. But the gameplay and story is a lot deeper, and the challenge begins to level up fairly quickly. If you've enjoyed past Mario Bros. RPGs, I'm sure you'll love this game NepGear. So far, I'm enjoying it much more than Paper Mario 64.

Mario And Luigi Dream Team is too easy, but the game has very fun gameplay and a cute story.

There is a demo available, for anyone who's still skeptical. I don't blame anyone for being cautious about purchasing this game, after what was Sticker Star. I knew to pass on that game, and I usually have pretty good taste in videogames. So...

NepGear, it probably isn't being blocked during the day, because that wouldn't make much, if any, sense at all. There may have been an issue with the demo. I'd check the eShop again later today or tomorrow.

OMG! What an epic failure.

I just checked and I can't download the demo right now either.

The game is listed as 18+ right now, but I was just able to download the demo Finally, but I won't be able to play until tomorrow since it is so late.

After playing for only five hours, this game has become my second favorite RPG on the 3DS. Although, it's giving SMTIV some serious competition. I think I have to wait until I complete both games, before I can make my final decision. M&L:DT has much more charming and enjoyable gameplay, but SMTIV has a lot deeper mechanics and strategy.

The demo rating has been fixed so you can download it any time now lol.

Is it just me or is Luigi way too overpowered in this game?

If you feel that Luigi is overpowered in this entry, you could try to always score one point on the stat bonus roulette. Just dump the point into Luigi's BP stat, so it has no effect on his defense or power. Make sure you save right before everytime Luigi is about to level up, in case the roulette doesn't land on one. I do that everytime Mario and Luigi are about to level up, because I haven't been accepting anything less than a three point increment. I've been doing that, so I'm not underpowered for hard mode.

I just reached Dozing Sands, and the level of exploration has increased exponentially. I've only been able to play through about 1/3 of Paper Mario and only the beginning of Super Mario RPG (Wii VC), but I actually find this game pretty addictive.

Are there any things that can be missed if you're not careful?

There are beans buried all over the island that separately increase Mario & Luigi's stat's. They're exactly hidden, but some exploration is needed to locate them. I guess you could consider them missable, since they're completely optional.

Is Bowser good or mean in game?

He's mean.

I'm really enjoying this game.

Does Bowser become an ally at some point during this game?

^ No, I don't think so. I'm still only at the summit of Mount Pajamaja, though. It's one of the best games on 3DS, I can tell you that.

Have you reached the boss of Mount Pajamaja yet? I cannot figure out a few of the puzzles in the area.

^ I'll most likely reach the boss sometime tonight or tomorrow night. I've been taking my time with this game, because I'm enjoying it so much. Which is what I usually tend to do with games I don't want to end.

I've defeated the boss at Mount Pajama'ja. I'm currently searching for Dream Points at Driftwood Shore, and I've already found three of them.

Has anyone noticed that some enemies glow and are much more difficult to beat?

^ Nope, I haven't encountered any enemies that glow yet. Although, I'm still in the process of hiding Princess Peach from Bowser.

I'm currently expanding the dream world at Driftwood Shore, and I just need the third and final dream egg. This hasn't been my favorite area of the game, so far. The dream world sections have been fun, though.

Is this game as story driven as previous Mario and Luigi games?

^ I'm not sure, because this is the first M&L game I've played. Maybe one of our other members happens to know.

Mario and Luigi were full-blown RPG's in the vein of Super Mario RPG, so the were quite story-driven, I don't know about Dream Team though?

Nobody is talking about this game at any of the forums I visit. What's up with that? I love this game, and so should everybody else.
